Build & Styling

New Tata Sumo Gold Car - Interior
Tata Motors has built the Tata Sumo Gold to be a stronger version of its predecessor. The new version of the SUV has been built with a visually appealing tough masculine exterior. The front end of the car features a headlight with a new design. The Tata Logo is adorned with a black mesh and a long body coloured grille which is a refreshing new alteration in the design. The grille features a thin chrome plate which runs along its length, joining the two headlamp panels on which the words GOLD are etched. The logo design seems to be inspired by that of the Land Rover. The fog lamps in the front and rear portions ensure the safety of passengers while the stylish wheel caps yield buoyancy to the exterior. The side profile of the SUV is adorned with graphics which give a sporty appearance. The tinted window glasses along with body coloured door handles gives the car a luxurious appeal. The new car accomodates the spare wheel below the cabin, ensuring that it does not hang out on the fifth door.
The wheels of the car along with radial tyres offer a higher ground clearance of 190 mm and contribute in a smooth and swift ride.
The interiors of the new Sumo Gold is equipped to give a very comfortable and relaxed ride, accommodating 7-9 adults with ease. The spacious interiors offer ample head and legroom along with good shoulder space. One can stow a lot of luggage in the rear portion and also in between the seats. The music system includes an AUX-in socket while the engine immobilizer and AC vents are evenly distributed in the SUV, ensuring the comfort of all the passengers. The cup holders are featured on the lid of the glove box, giving a nice and sophisticated appearance.
The leather wrapped steering wheels along with hydraulic clutch empower the driver with total control over the vehicle while the anti glare rear view mirror allows a clearer view. The instrument panel includes a trip odometer, tachometer, low fuel indicator with a clock to make sure that the car is safe and filled with luxurious features.
Suspension in case of both the variants are advanced and sophisticated double wishbone type with coil springs and antiroll bar in both the front and rear portions. The suspension is far more superior to the Mc Pherson Struts, adding to the superior driving dynamics while reducing tyre wear.
Safety Features
The safety features of the new Tata Sumo Gold include new fog lamps, door ajar warning, key less entry and seat belts with warnings and anti glare rear view mirrors. A surprising thing is that EBD and ABS features are missing in a car of its class and stature. The car features Disc and Rear-Drum brakes for both the variants. All the four variants feature side intrusion beams on all the doors and Rear High Mount Stop Lamps while the power windows and engine immobilizer feature comes as standard only in the GX model with a provision to provide the same in the other models.
